We’ve grown a lot since we started Wellyx in 2015

World

This year the world struck a deal on climate change, the trans-pacific partnership got done, Mayweather and Pacquiao finally went into the ring & Great Britain got a new princess named Charlotte.

Wellyx

The idea behind Wellyx was conceived in our health club. After years of using multiple software that refused to talk to each other, we finally decided to develop our own.

Fun fact

We had originally decided to call the company Voyager, after the Star Trek show. This was quickly dropped and Wellyx was born in its place.

2015

2016

World

Colombia struck a peace deal, the USA withdrew from the trans-pacific partnership. Great Britain voted to leave the EU, Donald Trump is elected U.S. president & Pokémon Go briefly took over everyone’s social life.

Wellyx

The team finally starts coding the software after a year of designing it. The first version is released. Everyone is ecstatic. But we want more, so we send it back for more development.

Fun fact

We thought we could design and develop the software with a team of 5 people. In the end it took 80 people for us to achieve success.

World

Donald Trump is inaugurated, NFL players protested during the national anthem. Great Britain triggered article 50, the USA witnessed a total solar eclipse & Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got engaged.

Wellyx

The second version of Wellyx is released. We start testing in our health club and the system works beautifully. We instantly go from using five software to using one & saving time/money in the process.

Fun fact

Just as we are about to start testing, we decide to locate to bigger offices. So, as live testing begins, we’re all hauling furniture.

2017

2018

World

Donald Trump triggered a trade war, Democrats won back the House, #MeToo movement went global, the United States left the Iran nuclear deal & Meghan Markle joined the British royal family.

Wellyx

We start selling and see a huge demand in the UK, USA & Ireland. 3 years of hard work, stress and hair loss finally start paying off. We decide to work on the 3rd iteration of Wellyx, to conquer both fitness and wellness.

Fun fact

By 2018 we had more people working for Wellyx than our health clubs combined.

World

Brexit is still not resolved, Meghan Markle gave birth to little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, we witnessed the Notre Dame Cathedral catch fire, and Game of Thrones finally came to an end.

Wellyx

The 3rd iteration of Wellyx is launched, with features like facility management, clock in/out for staff and a supercharged customer portal.

Fun fact

During the development of early versions of Wellyx, several weddings were put on hold. With version 3 done, and the pressure off, 2019 saw several members of the team finally tying the knot. Best of luck to them all!

2020

World

Joe Biden is elected President of America. The small matter of the UK leaving the EU finally happens. And things that start small can actually reshape the world – The Covid-19 pandemic swept through the world.

Wellyx

After a great start for Wellyx in 2020, business came to an abrupt stop with the spread of Covid-19. So we went back to developing the software some more, with new modules released including the staff app and the automation module.

Fun fact

Just like in 2017, in February 2020 we were in the middle of moving to our dedicated office block when Covid-19 struck. No, we will not be moving anymore!

Covid-19 is still spreading around the world like wildfire. Millions of people infected and economies are on their knees. Some countries are still in lockdowns, but with the roll out of vaccines, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The 4th iteration of Wellyx is launched, with features including rewards program and integrated access control.

During 2021, Wellyx family grew and we all worked hard to make our collective dream, a reality!

2022

World

While the world is struggling to get back to normal after Covid-19, a conflict between Russia and Ukraine is brewing.

Wellyx

Business is getting back to normal and we are busy as ever at Wellyx. Lots of new customers have joined the Wellyx platform in 2022 and we are going from strength to strength. Several new modules are in the pipeline for release in 2022.

Fun fact

With our recent hiring, we now have staff based in 8 different time zones.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in 2022 continued, and a series of coups, an armed conflict, and political crises broke out in numerous African nations.

The 4th iteration of Wellyx is launched with marketing modules & working on new features including video-on-demand is initiated!

Fun fact

All our staff members, regardless of time zone differences, stuck to healthy work ethics and moved forward as a team!
