Service & Class Based Access Control

Grant your customers facility access through a class or service booking, no membership needed. Full control, completely automated.

What's new

Access beyond membership

Until now, facility access in Wellyx was tied entirely to membership status. With this update, you can open your doors to a wider audience — letting any customer with a valid class or service booking walk right in, automatically.

Service-based access

Grant entry to customers booking PT sessions, treatments, or specialist appointments without a membership.

Class-based access

Customers with a valid class booking receive entry for that session window only, fully time-bounded.

Selective configuration

Apply access rules globally across your timetable, or handpick specific classes and services.

Remote access

Now you can send a secure link to your customers, giving them remote access to your facility—quick, easy, and hassle-free.

Set up in minutes

Access rules can be applied globally across your entire timetable, or scoped to specific classes and services

Gym scenario

Peak Performance Fitness — a 3,000 sqft urban gym

Peak Performance runs daily group classes and sells PT sessions. They want non-members to attend but only within their session window. Here’s how it plays out:

01

Admin configures access control in Wellyx

The gym manager enables class-based access for Spin, HIIT, & Yoga. PT is added as a service that grants entry for the session duration only.

02

Sarah, a non-member, books a Spin class online

Sarah discovers the gym through Google, books a Saturday 8am Spin class, and pays $12 as a drop-in, no membership required.

03

Sarah arrives — access granted automatically

At the door, Sarah scans her device. Wellyx verifies her active booking and grants entry immediately. No reception needed.

04

Access is time-bounded to the class window

Sarah’s access is valid only for her Spin class window. Once the session ends, entry rights expire automatically.

05

James books a personal training session

James, also a non-member, books a 1-hour PT session. His booking triggers access for the PT floor during his slot only, no full-facility access granted.

06

Both convert to members within the month

After positive experiences, Sarah joins with a class membership and James signs up for a monthly PT package.

Outcome: Peak Performance added $840/month in drop-in revenue within 4 weeks, onboarded 11 new members who originally booked as drop-ins, and eliminated all manual front-desk verification for non-member access.

Why it matters

The business case

Opening your doors to non-members on a session basis creates a conversion funnel — not a security risk. Here’s what venues consistently see:

34%

of drop-ins convert to a membership within 60 days

2.4×

revenue uplift from non-member bookings vs. empty slots

Zero

manual overrides needed — access is fully automated

Common questions

Yes — they’ll book through your customer portal or app, which creates a lightweight guest profile automatically. No membership is required to complete a booking or access your facility.

Access is limited to the zones mapped to that class or service. A spin class booking won’t open the weights room or spa — only the areas you assign to that specific activity.

Access is revoked immediately when a booking is cancelled. The door system reflects the change in real time — no manual intervention required.

Not at all. Service and class-based access sits alongside your existing membership rules — it does not replace or override any current configuration.
